C Purlin Roll Forming Machine

A C-purlin roll forming machine is industrial machinery that takes steel coil (cold rolled, galvanized, etc.), flattens/levels it, gradually bends it via rolls into a “C”-shaped channel (with web, flanges, lips), possibly punches holes or slots, then cuts it to length. The resulting C-purlins are used structurally (roofing, framing, girts, etc.).

Key Components / Modules

Here are the major parts of a typical machine / production line:


Module

Function / Purpose

Decoiler (Uncoiler)

Holds the steel coil,allows it to unwind smoothly. Might be manual,hydraulic,single head,double head.

Feeding / Guiding / Leveling

Straightens the strip,aligns it,flattens any coil-set to ensure accurate forming.

Roll-Forming Section

Series of roll stands (each with rollers) that progressively shape the strip into the C profile.

Punching / Notching Stations

Optional or required depending on design:to punch holes,slots,or cut notches in the web/flanges before or after forming.

Cutting Device

After forming,to cut the C-purlin to required length. Can be hydraulic shear,mold cutter,flying saw,or fly cut (non-stop).

Hydraulic / Power Station

Powers the cutting,punching,decoiler (if hydraulic),possibly leveling,etc.

Control System (PLC)

For setting dimensions,adjusting speed,coordinating punches/cuts,automating size changes,safety interlocks.

Output / Receiving Table or Stacker

To catch finished parts,stack them,possibly automate stacking.

Forming / Production Speed

Anywhere from ~5–15 m/min for heavier or more complex configurations,up to ~30–40 m/min (or more) in high-speed models with fly cutting etc

Number of Roll Stations

10-25 stands / rollers depending how gradually the shape is formed (more stands = smoother forming,better accuracy) 

Drive / Transmission

Gearbox drives,chain or sprocket transmission among stands,motors range depending on thickness / speed;hydraulic systems for cutting/punching. 

Cutting / Punching

Options include stationary (stop forming,punch,cut) vs flying / non-stop cutting (cut while moving) for higher throughput. Material for cutters usually hardened steel (Cr12,GC15,etc.),often heat treated. kymachine.com...5

3-phase electric (often 380V,50Hz in many suppliers),hydraulics for punch / cutter,sometimes servo drives.
